Spring Shopping at LOFT

With Spring right around the corner it is obviously time for some new clothes! (I love that the change of every season gives me a reason to shop!) And because I work at LOFT and see all of the new spring clothes filling our racks and shelves I can't help myself but to buy more than just a few things :) I am loving my spring wardrobe so far and I can't wait until it is actually warm enough to wear all of the pieces! Until then though, I will continue layering them under more weather appropriate things. 

I want to share with you the spring essentials I have bought so far and wish you a very happy spring shopping :)

My newest additions to my closet are the items I bought today! The scallop stitch sweater is a perfect transition peice from winter to spring! I love the cream color, it is definitely in this spring! I also bought a pair black, everyday twill shorts. They will be great to dress up for work or down for play all summer long!

Althea Harper Fall '11 Fashion Week Presentation!

As many of you know, New York Fashion Week is currently going on and this year I was lucky enough to help out with Althea Harper's Fall 2011 collection presentation! My best friend, Ashlie, has been Althea's assistant since September and asked me if I would be interested in heading up to NYC to help them prepare for the show which took place Friday, February 11. Obviously, I couldn't pass up such an amazing opportunity so Thursday morning I made my way to New York.

I worked with Ashlie, and Althea from about 1 pm on Thursday until 3 am Friday getting everything ready for the show. My main job was to finish altering all of the garments. 7 intense alterations in 14 hours is no easy task! I was amazed at how everything was going. Even though it was stressful everyone was so positive and excited to see the collection finished.

We spent the day Friday finalizing everything, I can easily say I have never been so stressed in my life! Especially when an hour and a half before call time we discovered one dress still needed serious alterations, I was a speed seamstress then and there! 

The presentation turned out absolutely stunning! It was so amazing to see all of the models dressed and looking fabulous! It was a true honor to work with Althea and her team!

Glee at the SAG Awards 2011

On Sunday, January 30th, the Screen Actors Guild Awards (SAG) were held in Los Angeles where more than 5 million viewers tuned in to watch! I personally enjoyed watching the red carpet broadcast before the awards! One of my favorite groups to see all dressed up is the cast of Glee, as it is one of my favorite shows! I think all of them looked absolutely stunning! Let me know what you think :)
